Today’s tune-up is less about points and carburetors and more about keeping an engine running the way it was designed to. At Jamie’s Transmission Service a tune-up typically covers spark plugs, engine air filter, cabin air filter, fuel filter where equipped, belts and hoses, a fluid check, and a scan for stored trouble codes.

Signs You Are Due For a Tune-Up

Rough idle, hesitation when you accelerate, hard starting, worse fuel economy than you used to get, or a check engine light that comes and goes all point toward a tune-up. Many of these symptoms also get mistaken for transmission problems, and we are one of the few shops that can tell the difference on the first road test.
