Shocks & Suspension

Shocks, Struts, Springs & Suspension Repair

Worn shocks and struts do more than make a rough ride. They let the tires bounce off the road under braking and in corners, and they wear out tires, ball joints and bushings early. Jamie’s Transmission Service replaces shocks, struts, springs, control arms, ball joints, tie rod ends and bushings on cars, trucks, SUVs and vans.

Signs Your Suspension Is Worn

Nose-diving when you brake, bouncing after a bump, a floaty feel on the highway, clunks over rough pavement, uneven or cupped tire wear, or a truck that sags under a load. Most shocks and struts are tired well before 100,000 miles, and many drivers never notice because the decline is so gradual.

Suspension and Drivetrain Go Together

Suspension problems and drivetrain problems overlap more than people expect. A vibration might be a worn U-joint or a bad shock, a clunk might be a ball joint or a differential, and a pull might be a tie rod or a dragging brake. Because we work on all of it, we find the real cause on one road test. Diagnostics run $95 + tax and include the road test, computer scan and fluid check.

Heavy Duty Options For Trucks That Work

If your truck tows or hauls, we can set the suspension up for it alongside our heavy duty tow packages, from heavier shocks to helper springs, so the truck sits level and handles safely with a load behind it. Rough estimates are free by phone, email or in person.
